General information about visa applications
It is recommended that all overseas Big Data Summit 2017 participants carefully read the following document from the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship: Visa options for business events such as conferences, meetings or seminars
Participants may need to apply for a visa online, via ETA, or a paper-based application. Some overseas Big Data Summit 2017 participants need to apply for a business visa in order to visit Australia. The passport which you hold determines whether you can apply online, or if you need to lodge a paper-based application. For participants from Electronic Authority Travel (ETA) eligible countries, information can be found at http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/eta.htm. Applications can be completed at http://www.eta.immi.gov.au/.

Please lodge visa applications at least 6–8 weeks before your intended date of travel to Australia (or allow at least two weeks for online visa applications).

Visa Support Letter
REQUESTING VISA SUPPORT LETTERS
- Big Data Summit is able to provide visa support letters to attendees as well as conference committee.
- For visa support letters, refer all requests to email@example.com. Those requesting a letter should allow up to one week to receive it. All requests are handled in the order they are received. The information below should be included with the request.
- Name (as it appears on attendee’s passport) and mailing address
- The name of the conference attendees is registering for
- Speakers can provide the title of their talk.
- Include a fax number or email address of where letter can be sent
