The Future of Digital Government Service Delivery and Engagement

Steven Smith
Director, KPMG
Abstract
A perfect digital storm has been gathering across government in Australia for the past few years. The winds of change have been fanned by faster, easier to use and more powerful digital technologies and by the promises by governments of increased productivity, reduced red-tape, more accountability and engaging more effectively with citizens and businesses. Government customers are increasingly expecting to engage and transact with governments online when and where it pleases them, using the device of their choice.

This presentation will explore the nature of the perfect storm and the challenges and opportunities it presents and whether transitioning services to the online world is going to be a sufficient response or whether digital transformation is required.
